who was at the anime exchange that happened in nigeria on the 5th of january?

hey there, are there any anime fans who can see this post? are there nigerians out there who love anime and wondered if they were all alone? if so then you need to check this out! open your ears and listen to this! a group of totally radical guys over here in lagos, nigeria have made it their mission to bring together all the lovers of anime and manga that are in existence in the country, and then together with them to lead a movement(well maybe not a movement) to show everyone just how amazing anime and manag are as they come from a rich and diverse culture and usually have a message to tell besides providing great entertainment.

these amazing individuals a concept i had been racking my own brains on and made it a reality in a way i never could have done. it goes simply like this ' animes are great. animes are fun. people love animes. so lets all share.' now i know that over the years small groups would come together to try and download and swap animes amongst themselve. my friends and i were such a group that mangaed to get a few people in unilag interested in animes and spread the joy of watching animes to others. but it became harder and harder to get things moving amongst ourselves as people who were in the group graduated and no longer had time to come to campus and help in the movement of keeping people into anime. i kept thinking to myself 'is there a way to keep people interested in our community of anime? how can we still get out new and interesting anime to people who need it, who will appreciate it, and who will have the same spirit of sharing animes with others? for a long time i couldn't find the answer. it never occurred to me to use the peer groups on the net as a means of accomplishing this goal.

i unfortunately was not able to attend, but i did my little bit by making sure that every person i knew was an anime fan would be aware and would do their utmost best to be there. i heard it was a great success and far surpassed what anybody had expected in terms of turn out.

i intend to be there for the next one being held on the 1st of march. i hope that if anybody reads this then they too will be there to part of an unforgettable experience. heck for all i know we could be making history! imagine that.

see you there, and as the one organisers said after the success "this is just the beginning...why say the sky's the limit, when there's footprints on the moon!"

see you ther.
